Birth anniversary of Imam e Zamana celebrated in Kargil

Kargil: Kargil celebrated the birth anniversary of the twelfth and last Shia Imam, Imam Mahdi (PBUH) with religious zeal.

Imam Mahdi (PBUH) was born on the 15th day of the month of Sha’ban on the lunar calendar around 1,200 years ago.

The biggest celebration was organized by Anjuma-e-Jamiatul Ulama Isna Ashria, (AJUIA) Kargil Ladakh in the premises of Hozia Ilmiya in which people from all the villages of Kargil gathered.

The program was started with recitation of Holy Quran by Akhone Mohammad Halim, Seikh Mohammad Ali Mohammad, students of JAMES, Project Care.

The speakers threw light on the teachings and appearance of Hazrat Imam Mehdi A.S and the Day of Judgment.

The Chief Guest of the Occasion President AJUIA Kargil Ladakh Hojatuul Islam Wal Muslameen Sheikh Nazir Mehdi Mohammadi urged upon the people of the district to come on a single platform and work for the unity and prosperity of the district.

Followers of the Shiite Muslim tradition believe that the imam, whom they also call the Mahdi, will return one day to deliver peace and justice, which the human needs. Shia Muslim believe that Imam Mehdi A.S the 12th Imam is in occultation until he returns at the end of time.

In his presidential speech Hojjatul Islam Sheikh Ali Elmi threw light on the philosophy of occultation of the Imam Mehdi A.S and requested the people to follow the path of Islam that is peace and communal harmony in the country and the Islamic world.
