3 persons injured as forces open fire on protesters in Budgam
Srinagar, Apr 18: Three persons were injured on Thursday after government forces opened fire on protesters in Hafroo village of Chadoora area of Budgam district, amid the parliamentary elections in the two constituencies of the state.
Reports said that protestors pelted stones on police and paramilitary forces deployed in the area for polling. The forces retaliated by firing bullets and pellets, resulting in injuries to three people.
Earlier, clashes were also reported from Beerwah, Kandoora, Chewdara, Kawoosa and Rathsun villages of the district.
Reports also said that youth pelted stones on forces deployed for polling duty and polling stations and forces retaliated by using tear smoke shells and pellets to disperse the protestors.
