DGP interacts with police personnel at Handwara, reviews arrangements for polls

Jammu, April 04: In view of the upcoming Lok Saba General elections, Director General of Police Jammu and Kashmir, Dilbag Singh visited North Kashmir’s Police District Handwara and reviewed the security arrangement in the area.

DGP was on third day visit to districts of North Kashmir to review the security arrangements put in place for upcoming Lok Saba elections scheduled to be conducted on 11th of this month. He was accompanied by ADGP Armed, SJM Gillani IGP Kahmir Zone, S.P Pani and DIG North Kashmir, M Suleman  Choudhary.

While interacting with the officers and officials at District Police Lines Handwara, the DGP instructed them to discharge their duties with utmost dedication and honesty without indulging any sort of activities which are not allowed as per the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission of India.

DGP emphasized the police Personnel to have proper understanding of the mission so as to achieve desired results.  He further advised them to work in the form of teams and follow the orders of field commanders strictly.

“Our priority has to be providing safe and secure environment so that the candidates and the people take part in the democratic process without any fear”, DGP added. He stressed upon the officers to maintain close co-ordination within the ranks for peaceful conduct of ensuing elections. He also impressed upon them to remain extra vigilant and take all safety measures for their protection in the field.
