Srinagar, Mar 10: Joint Resistance leadership (JRL) on Sunday asked people to resume normal life on Monday, saying any future programme will be communicated to them.

“The leadership hailed the support extended by the traders, transporters and other segments of the society towards leadership and thanked them and asked that normal life should be resumed on March 11. Any program will be communicated to people in the future,” JRL said in a statement.

The JRL also termed the summoning of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Ali Geelani’s son Syed Naseem Geelani by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) as “sheer political vendetta”.

Meanwhile, the authorities on Sunday imposed restrictions in parts of the city here as a “precautionary measure to maintain law and order” in view of a strike called by various trade bodies against the NIA summon to Hurriyat-M chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

Shops and other business establishments in the restricted areas remained shut while elsewhere in the Valley it was business as usual.
