Azad expresses grief over loss of lives in Kishtwar road accident

‘Take adequate and stringent measures to check the recurrence of road accidents’

Jammu, March 02: Expressing concern over frequency of road mishaps, Former Chief Minister J&K, Ghulam Nabi Azad, has expressed extreme grief and sorrow over the tragic road accident in Dadpeth area of Kishtwar district today resulting in death of four persons.

According to a statement issued here, Azad has urged Governor J&K Satya Pal Malik to take effective steps to check road accidents and pass the directions to the traffic department to take adequate and stringent measures to check the recurrence of road accidents.

“Azad also urged the Governor to provide adequate ex-gratia relief of Rs. 10 lakhs each in favour of the deceased family members,” reads the statement.

“He prayed for peace to the departed souls beside a place for them in a heaven. He also wished speedy recovery to those who were injured in the accident,” it added.
