DDC Gbl reviews implementation of PM-SYM
GANDERBAL, FEBRUARY 27: District Development Commissioner Hashmat Ali Khan today chaired a meeting to review the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhan Yojna (PM-SYMY) -a pension scheme for the unorganised workers.
The DC stressed on covering all genuine unorganised workers working as MG-NREGA job card holders, Pony Wallas, Dandi Wallas, labour card holders of the district.
The unorganised workers whose monthly income is Rs. 15,000 per month or less and are in the age group of 18-40 years are eligible to avail benefit of the scheme. The beneficiary should not be covered under the New Pension Scheme, Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) scheme or Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
The DDC stressed on concerned departments including Employment and Rural Development Department to work in coordination and prepare the list of genuine beneficiaries.
He emphasised on disseminating awareness about the scheme through print, electronic media and other means so that no genuine worker is left out.
Assistant Labour Commissioner and District Programme Officer were asked to ensure registration of maximum number of workers. He said the primary objective of the scheme is to provide financial security to the people with no economic backup support.
Among others the meeting was attended by ADC, Showket Ahmad, Joint Director Planning, Mohammad Yaseen Malik, Assistant Labour Commissioner, District Programme Officer and other concerned officers.
