WGAJK team leaves for Himalayan ski resort Auli, to participate in Nationals

Srinagar, Feb 25: A nine member nordic and alpine ski team, led by Muhammad Yusuf, of Winter Games Association of J&K (WGAJK) team on Monday left for Auli for participation in Nationals commencing from 26th Feb.

Auli is a Himalayan ski resort and hill station in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand.

Due to road blockade the team was sent by air from Srinagar today. They will take part in different events of nordic ski, alpine ski and snowboarding.

The championship is being organised by Uttranchal Olympic Association under the Aegis of Indian Olympic Association.

The team was flagged off by WGAJK president Abass Wani at Srinagar airport today. He expressed his confidence in his team and is hopeful with colorful results.

Muhammad Yusuf is nominated as Technical Delegate of the games by Indian Olympic Association.

Abass Wani expressed his gratitude to Rajeev Mehta, Secretary General, IOA and Rakesh Sharma, convener adhoc body ski and snowboard IOA for making the participation of J&K team possible.
