A day long workshop was held at Arts in Life Initiative Foundation (ALIF), Chanpora Tangmarg on Child Rights. Organized by Perfect Vision Welfare Foundation and supported by Mission Directorate ICPS, Department of Social Welfare and Jammu and Kashmir State Child Protection Society. Children from different schools participated in the event as the facilitators also spoke with the parents regarding ICPS and Child Rights.

More than 50 children participated in the event while several elders, parents of the children, also listened to the speakers who deliberated about child rights as well as ICPS. The aim of the workshop, the organizers said, was to inform and sensitize children as well as elders regarding child rights as well as various apparatus from the government side to ensure healthy childhood for all children.

The workshop included various activities for participating children including Painting, play for peace activities as well as a skit which was performed by the children. Children were provided with basic painting and drawing material and given a chance to express themselves in colors. All participating children showed immense interest in employing their artistic skills to create masterpieces, each one in its unique style. Ghazala Fatima (Artist) who conducted the Art activity was very much influenced by works created by children. ‘’I am amazed to see the choice of colors these children make whether they understand it or not but the whole appearance of each art work is immensely  powerful  and uniquely  startling” she said.

A skit performance by children amazed all, with the stunning performance by the child actors who had developed the theme of ‘children’s right to education’.

At the end of the workshop a rally was taken out with children holding placards reading messages related to Child Rights. The whole idea of the rally was to pass on the message to as many people as possible.
