Geelani pays tributes to slain militant

Srinagar, February 06, 2019:  Paying glowing tributes to the militant killed in Litter Pulwama encounter, All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani said that these brave youth are sacrificing their today for the freedom of our land.

In a statement issued today, Geelani has also condemned the arrest of nine youth who were detained by forces and SOG during overnight raids in two villages Arigam and Arihal of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

While paying tributes to the slain militant, Hurriyat chairman said that New Delhi will never succeed in ‘diluting and crushing the sentiment of freedom movement for inalienable right to self-determination.’

Elaborating the volatile situation particularly faced by the people of Pulwama, Shopian, Anantnag and Kulgam, the Hurriyat leader said people get thrashed, beaten, humiliated without any cause.

Meanwhile, Geelani in a separate statement has condoled the demise of Gh. Hassan Zahid elder brother of columnist Z. G. Mohammad, Khawaja Mohammad Subhan father of chief editor KNS Mohammad Aslam Bhat and Moulana Qazi Gh. Nabi Imam and Khateeb of Jamia Masjid Kishtwar.

Hurriyat chairman said that we share the grief with bereaved families and pray for eternal peace of deceased and courage for the family to bear this painful loss.
