MVD organizes medical camp

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 05: In connection with 30th Road Safety Week, the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) in collaboration with Mini Bus Workers Union, Jammu Province organized a mega medical-cum-awareness camp for the fitness of drivers and conductors here at Mahesh Pura.

On the occasion, Additional Transport Commissioner, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf advised the participants to avoid over speeding, racing, drunken driving, use of mobile phone while driving and wrong overtaking.

Saraf stressed upon the participants particularly driver community to undergo regular medical checkups to ensure the fitness of their body and mind for safe transportation of the passengers.

Regional Transport Officer, D R Knethia stressed upon the youth to wear helmet and seat belt while driving two-wheeler or four-wheeler to avoid fatal injuries.

During Medical camp, over 200 drivers and conductors were examined for eyesight, sugar level, colour blindness and free of cost medicines were provided to them.

Besides others, officers and officials of MVD, Chairman and President of the Union, Niranjan Singh and Vijay Chib, team of doctors, eye technician and para-medical staff, driver community and the general public also attended the Road Safety Week programme.
