Srinagar, Jan 05 : Traffic was on Tuesday allowed from Srinagar to Jammu and as the highway was declared open for one way traffic for the second consecutive day after remaining closed for three consecutive days.
An advisory issued by the traffic police department however, said that no vehicle will be allowed to move in from the opposite direction. The advisory said that the vehicles were being allowed to move from Srinagar to Jammu today.
As reported already the vehicles stranded on the highway due to a landslide last evening were allowed to move after the road was for one way traffic Monday this week .
Landslides in the Banihal-Ramban area at Panthal, Battery Chashma, Gagroo, Anokhi fall and some other places have resulted in the frequent blockade on the highway during the last one month.
Blockade of the highway often causes scarcity of essential commodities in the landlocked Kashmir Valley. (KNS)
