Sentry opens fire after noticing suspicious movement in Warpora Sopore
Sopore, January 31: Panic gripped Warpora area of Sopore town on Thursday evening after a sentry of Jammu and Kashmir Police opened fire here, officials said.
According to local reports, the sentry guarding the main gate of police post Warapora fired several rounds in air after observing some suspicious movement.
Speaking to Kashmir Images, Senior Superintend of Police (SSP) Sopore, Javaid Iqbal, said: “Sentry deployed at police post Warpora fired some warning shots after observing suspicious movement.”
“Everything is fine and there is no panic like situation in the area,” the officer added.
Meanwhile, searches were conducted in the said area by the government forces.
