J&K Bank organizes special customer meet for exporters

Srinagar, Jan 31: J&K Bank organized a special customer meet for exporters to apprise them about various customized products and services offered by the state’s premier financial institution for the exporter community.

The meeting, held in the M Y Khan Auditorium at the corporate headquarter of the bank, was chaired by its Executive President, PK Tickoo and attended by Vice President (FOREX), Arshid Hussain Dar, officials of the International Banking Division (IBD) and Foreign Exchange Department of the Bank besides businessmen dealing in export trade of merchandise ranging from handicrafts, pashmina, traditional Kashmiri carpets among other items.

Describing exporters as “lifeline of any economy”, the Executive President interacted with the attendees and elucidated the range of exporter specific products and facilities that the bank offers the business community dealing with export of commodities. “The country always looks up to the activities that ensure inflow of foreign exchange. Even though government has come up with benefits for trader community, it has always been the endeavor of our Bank that the exporters should also get best possible services apart from the concessions that the government gives,” the Executive President said.

Various schemes devised by the bank to meet the requisite needs of the exporters were expounded which included business specific products like Export Credit Scheme; a concessional working capital finance available both in rupee and foreign currency, Gold Card Scheme for Exporters which offers additional rebate on interest, Interest Equalization/Subvention Scheme, Multi Currency Foreign Travel Card among other innovative products and schemes.

Later in the session, the Executive President along with other officials of IBD and Forex department of the bank entertained questions from the attendees and provided clarification to the queries raised by them regarding non-acceptance of dollar cheque, delay in realization of bills and sanction of ad-hoc facilities. The Executive President while passing on-spot directions to get the grievances redressed in a timely manner stated that other related issues shall be taken-up with concerned departments in the upcoming meeting ofsub-committee of export promotion of State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC).

Besides expressing gratitude for arranging the interaction, the businessmen also praised the J&K Bank staff for their work ethic and requested the management to conduct such meetings regularly.
