NHM employees press for regularization

Srinagar, January 29: National Health Mission (NHM) employees from different districts of the valley today again hit the streets to press for their demands including regularization and equal pay for equal work as per SRO 384.

Shouting slogans, the protesting NHM employees including good number of females holding banners and placards sat on a dharna at Pratap Park here asking government to fulfill their demands.

Pertinently, NHM employees from January 14 have been protesting to press for thier demands which include regularization of services and equal work equal pay.

The protestors who later assembled at Press Enclave threatened to intensify their protest in case the government failed to resolve issues confronting them.

“We have been continuously protesting in support of our demands. Despite assurances, the government seems least interested to resolve our issues,” said NHM Employees’ President, Muneer Andrabi.

He said their protest will continue until their demands are met.

He said near about 8,000 employees who were appointed in the year 2006 have been working under NHM, RNTCP and NACO and are working as doctors, paramedics.

Andrabi also demanded implementation of 7th pay commission in their favor.
