Traffic Police issues advisory ahead for R-Day

Srinagar, Jan 23: Traffic Police in Srinagar city on Wednesday said that Sonawar-Ram Munshi Bagh road stretch in Srinagar will remain closed for traffic for two days in view of Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium being the venue for Republic Day function.

A traffic police spokesperson in an advisory said due to security reasons, the traffic movement from Sonawar up to Ram Munshi Bagh road stretch including Dalgate-Ram Munshi Bagh, Radio Kashmir-Ram Munshi Bagh and Gupkar-Ram Munshi Bagh will remain suspended from January 24, 2019 to January 26, 2019, from early morning hours up to 2 pm.

He said the motorists intending to travel to Srinagar from south Kashmir should adopt Bypass road stretch.

Similarly, the motorists intending to travel to south Kashmir from the city centre and downtown areas shall adopt Batamaloo-Tengpora-Bypass or Rambagh-Natipora road stretch to reach Pantha Chowk, he added.

“Any inconvenience caused is highly regretted,” said traffic police spokesman in a statement.
