Six persons injured in Pattan road accident

Srinagar, Jan 14: Six persons were injured, one of them critically, in a road accident in Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district last night.

Reports said an ambulance heading towards Handwara collided with a private car near ITI Pattan, resulting in injuries to six persons, including the ambulance driver.

The ambulance driver, identified as Manzoor Ahmad Khan of Gund Razak Khan Haril Handwara, was shifted to Srinagar in critical condition.

The other injured were identified as Mohammad Rafiq Chak, Hajira Bano, Sonallulah Dar, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Dar and Mubeena Begum — all residents of Handwara.

They were rushed to SDH Pattan wherefrom Mohammad Rafiq Chak and Hajira Bano were referred to SDH Sopore for specialised treatment.

Meanwhile, in a separate accident, four passengers were injured, one of them seriously, in a road accident in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district on Monday.

An official said that a cab skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Batadurian area of Mendhar, resulting in injuries to four passengers.

All the injured were shifted to a nearby health facility wherefrom one of the seriously injured persons was referred to district hospital Rajouri for specialised treatment.
