Dir Social Forestry launches plantation drive

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 15: Director Social Forestry Suresh Kumar Gupta, Saturday kick-started plantation drive at Kashmir University’s South Campus in Anantnag district.

During the event, over 500 saplings including Weeping Willows, Deodars, Ash (Hoom) were planted.

The event was attended by Director Kashmir University Prof. Muzaffar Ahmad Andrabi, Regional Director Social Forestry Kashmir, Additional DC Anantnag, DFOs, University faculty and students’ others participated in the drive.

The Director Social Forestry informed that the department is going to plant more than 5.4 Lakh Conifer, broad-leaved and fruit plants over an area of 540 hectares in Kashmir division.

He appealed to the students to spread the message of plantation and environment concerns in the society for wider participation of the public in the drive.
