Sopore shuts to mourn militant killings

Srinagar, Dec 14: A shutdown was observed today for the second consecutive day in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district to mourn the killings of two militants in a gunfight yesterday.

Owais Ahmad Bhat alias Abu Bakar of Gund Brath and Tahir Ramzan Dar alias Abu Abdullah of Saidpora were killed in an overnight gunfight with the government forces in Brath Kalan yesterday.

All the shops and other business establishments remained closed in Sopore town while skeletal movement of traffic was witnessed on the roads.
