Fraudsters booked for posing as insurance agents

Srinagar, Dec 10: Crime Branch Kashmir has registered a case against three fraudsters for cheating a Kashmiri journalist of an amount of Rs 1.05 lakhs.

The case was registered against Binod Kumar, Aditi and Arun Kumar for robbing one Nisar Ahmad Bhat through NEFT Banking under the garb of reimbursement of ICICI Prudential savings Surkasha–LP from ICICI Prudential Insurance.

According to a Crime Branch spokesperson, complainant Nissar Ahmad Bhat of Natipora, Srinagar, Bureau Chief of “The Hindu Daily Newspaper”, was cheated by these fraudsters on the pretext of returning the amount of insurance with bonus of his policy “Saving Surkasha–LP”. They fraudulently and dishonestly grabbed an amount of Rs. 1.05 lakhs from him, the spokesperson said.
