Students from ‘Sadbhavna Tour’ meet Governor

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 29: A group of 32 students (6th to 12th classes) from the Kupwara district, back from their visit to various places of historical and cultural importance in Punjab, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today and shared with him their experience during this tour.

The students were accompanied by teachers Mohammad Maqsood and Javida Begum and Army officer Captain Rajesh Tiwari and his wife Mamta Tiwari who had been with them on the tour.

During their 10-day tour (20th November to 30th November) , organized by the 47 Rashtriya Rifles  under Army’s ‘Sadbhavana Programme’ these students visited  Chandigarh, Jallandhar, Kapurthala and Amritsar.

Interacting with the children, the Governor enquired from them about the places they visited and the experience gained during the tour. They said that it was a lifetime opportunity for them to have received exposure to various places of educational, scientific, historical and cultural interests in the country.

Governor urged the students to remain focused on their goals and work hard for achieving them. He informed them about several initiatives taken by his administration for providing ample opportunities to the youth in arenas of sports and extra-curricular activities besides steps being taken to improve quality of education.

Governor presented gifts to the students and wished them a bright future ahead.
