Bandipora, Nov 18: Senior PDP leader Nizamuddin Bhat has said that health care system in Bandipora needs improvement to meet the patient rush and emergencies.

Bhat in a statement said Bandipora sub-district hospital catering to remote areas awaits district status since over a decade, which is now overdue.

“The district hospital building is incomplete and space at SDH is not only choked but not appropriate from sanitation point of view. The hospital development fund spared for patient care and post operative facilities is hugely consumed by unwarranted engagement of man power depriving the hospital of a legitimate component of finances.”

He said “The SDH also sans special care and critical care facility which has so far put needy patients to trouble. There is limited number of faculties where common gaeni, ortho, dental, paediatrics and ENT problems remain mostly unattended.”

Bhat said the primary health centres too are not adequately equipped which further compounds problems.

He demanded that Bandipora be provided a truama hospital at Ajas and all running health centres be provided additional professionals and facilities where emergencies are met and common diseases care becomes sufficiently available.

He said poor power supply has added to woes of doctors at SDH, besides the swelling rush which the available space is not able to accommodate.

Bhat hoped that sufficient funds will be made available in upcoming annual budget, besides grant of district status to SDH and immediate completion of district hospital building .
