High-speed Internet suspended in parts of Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 17: High-speed mobile Internet service was suspended in several parts of Kashmir Valley on Saturday owing to Panchayat elections.

Reports said that the speed of mobile Internet was throttled to 2G in Budgam, Baramulla and Bandipora districts while the data service was completely blocked in Kupwara district.

At least 47 panchayat blocks went to the polls in the first phase in a nine-phased election process today.

Officials said that the election was held in 16 blocks in Kashmir, 21 blocks in Jammu and 10 in Ladakh region on Saturday.
