DC Leh chairs Dist Consultative Committee meet

LEH, NOVEMBER 13: DC, Leh Avny Lavasa today chaired a district level review and District Consultative Committee meeting of the district here today.

Addressing the meeting, DC appreciated Lead bank management and all the banks for their contribution in improvement in credit flow and various portfolios during the quarter ending September 2018 in Leh district. She stressed on the scope for further improvement in generating financial literacy, financial inclusion and enhancing financial potential in priority sectors like agriculture and horticulture.

She urged all the banks and NABARD to organise awareness workshops and camps for government officials as well as public to inform about the financial benefits and schemes provided by banks in different sectors. The DC also emphasized on the convergence between banks and concerned government departments like Rural development Department, Agriculture, Horticulture to ensure maximum beneficiary with greater reach to the public.

The various agenda points discussed in the meeting include a review of the performance of banks under Annual Credit Plan 2018-19, a flow of credit to priority sector and weaker sections of the society, assistance under government sponsored schemes, performance under KCC and banks performance under Mudra loan.

It was informed during the meeting that there has been a growth of 2.57% in deposits portfolio, 7.32% in advances portfolio of the district during the quarter. The loan portfolio of the district has also increased by Rs.67.98 crores out of which there is a growth of Rs.5.76% in priority sector advances indicating an increase of Rs.24.50 crores. Agriculture sector also indicated an increase of Rs.3.54 crores showing an increase of Rs.3.27% over the previous quarter. The CD Ratio for the quarter recorded increase by 1.58% over the previous quarter and has remained 32.48% as on 30-09-2018

ADC, Leh Moses Kunzang, a representative from RBI, NABARD, SBI, J&K Bank and all other private banks operating in Leh were present at the meeting.
