Diwali along LoC: For a change, Indo-Pak troops exchange sweets not bullets

Poonch: It was a pleasant change witnessed along Line of Control (LoC) on the eve of Diwali, the festival of lights. Instad of bullets and mortars, the armies of India and Pakistan exchanged sweets along LoC in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

The locals said that sweets were exchanged between Indian and Pakistan armies at two crossing points in Poonch and Mendhar areas.

“Pleasantries and sweets were exchanged between the armies,” confirmed an Indian army official.

Normally, the LoC remains in the news for all bad reasons with both countries accusing each other of violating ceasefire and resorting to unprovoked shelling.

However, today it was different.

“We wish the two armies keep exchanged what they exchanged today so that lives are saved and we, in the line of fire, breathe bit normally.
