Internet services restored in Srinagar
Srinagar, Oct 18: Internet services though on reduced speed were restored in the Srinagar Thursday afternoon, a day after being snapped as a “precautionary measure” in the wake of a gunfight in the city that left two militants, a civilian and a policeman dead.
Internet services on mobile devices at 2G speed were restored this afternoon as the situation in the city remained peaceful, an official said.
He said a decision on restoring 4G Internet speed will be taken later in the day.
Internet services were snapped Wednesday “to prevent trouble-mongers from assembling crowd at the encounter site in Fateh Kadal area of the city” where two militants including a top commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba, the son of the owner of the house where encounter took place and a policeman were killed.
