Advisor Ganai inspects functioning of Ompora water supply scheme

BUDGAM, OCTOBER 09:  Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai today paid a surprise visit to Water Supply scheme, Ompora to get a first-hand assessment of the functioning of the treatment plant.

The Advisor was accompanied by Chief Engineer, PHE Department, Abdul Wahid, Superintendent Engineer Jatinder Singh, Executive Engineer Budgam G A Beigh, Executive Engineer Chadoora, G R Laharwal and other concerned officers.

During the visit, the Advisor was informed that the scheme has Zoorigund Nallah as its source and its total length is 1420 meters.

He was further briefed that the 0.35 MGD treatment plant, with a reservation capacity of 2 lakh gallons, provides water to Ompora town, Ompora Housing Colony, Ompora Village and Khanpora.

Later, a local delegation of the Housing Colony met the Advisor to discuss various issues related to their area. The delegation members highly appreciated the functioning of water supply scheme and its water treatment quality.

The delegation members, however, complained of lack of basic facilities including good roads and drainage system in the colony area.

The Advisor gave the delegation members a patient hearing and assured to seek the report of all of their genuine concerns from the concerned quarters.

Advisor Ganai said he would ascertain the reasons for delaying of developmental works in the area. He assured the locals that Governor led administration is keen to meet the genuine demands of people so that people in the State get all the facilities of the modern-day life.
