Search operations launched to trace abducted butcher

Sopore, October 04: Jammu and Kashmir Police along with Army and CRPF personnel launched a massive search operation in Sopore outskirts on Thursday morning to trace the whereabouts of Tawseef Ahmad Ganaie, a butcher by profession, who was abducted by suspected militants from his shop in Unisoo village of Handwara on Wednesday afternoon.

According to reports, Tawseef Ahmad Ganaie, 26, son of Mohammad Afzal Ganaie, resident of Batalepora Puj Mohalla Tujar Sharief Sopore, who was running a butcher shop in Unisoo village in the jurisdiction of Handwara town, was abducted by some unknown gunmen.

“A day after his abduction Jammu and Kashmir Police, 22 RR, and CRPF launched a search operation in Tujjar village and its adjoining areas to find Tawseef and searches will continue till his whereabouts are known,” said Javaid Iqbal, Senior Superintend of Police (SSP), Sopore.

He further added that forces have launched searches in many areas adjacent to Tawseef’s native village.

Police sources told Kashmir Images that forces held searches in many places including forests areas in Tujar, Harwan, Lathishat, Bomai and Zaloora to trace the abductee.
