Over a dozen youth detained in South Kashmir’s Pulwama villages

Pulwama, Aug 30: More than a dozen youth were reportedly arrested on Thursday by government forces during nocturnal raids in Pulwama district of South Kashmir.

Locals of Gudrooa village told  Kashmir Images that a joint team of government forces entered their village on Thursday midnight and raided many houses while arresting 5 youth.

Residents of Murran village in Pulwama said that more than 7 youth were arrested in Sheikhpora area of the said village during nightlong cordon and search operation on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

Locals also alleged forces for breaking windowpanes of some houses.

Meanwhile, one youth was detained from Gudbough and two others from Wapora village, said locals of respective villages.

A police official wishing not to be named told Kashmir Images, “The youth have been detained for questioning and no one among them has been booked so far.”
