DGP visits Kargil ahead of LAHDC elections

‘Reviews security arrangements’

Srinagar, August 19: Director General of Police, J&K, S.P Vaid-IPS on Sunday visited Zanskar Sub-Division and Kargil to review the security arrangement in connection with 4th General Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Election-2018, , said a police press release on Sunday.

It said, “DGP was accompanied by IGP Kashmir Zone S.P Pani-IPS, DIG CKR Vidhi Kumar Birdi-IPS, SSP PCR Kashmir Shahid Mehraj-JKPS, and SP Kargil Vinod Kumar-IPS.”

“S.P Vaid-IPS along with other officers visited Police Station Zanskar, where he interacted with the officers and jawans. Later on, worthy DGP J&K visited District Police Lines Kargil and interacted with Jawans at DPL Kargil,” reads the press release. “The DGP patiently heard the grievances of jawans and ensured their early redressal at district level and other quarters.”

“DGP and IGP Kashmir S.P Pani-IPS highly appreciated the working and applauded the role of Jawans in performing their duties in the harsh climatic conditions of the region and conveyed their best wishes to all ranks of the district Police Kargil,” the statement added.

The statement further said, “On this occasion, DySP Hqrs Kargil Syeed Mujahid ul Haq-JKPS, DySP DAR Kargil Rigzin Sangdup-JKPS and other officers were present. Meawnhile, SP Kargil Vinod Kumar-IPS presented vote of thanks to worthy DGP J&K, IGP Kashmir and other officers.”

LAHDC Polls: 2nd phase of randomization held at Kargil

KARGIL, AUGUST 19: The second phase of Polling Personnel randomisation was held at National Informatics Center (NIC) Hall, DC Office Complex in Baroo today.

Observers including Rajesh Sharma, Abdul Rashid War and Bilal Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer (LAHDC) Kargil (Election Authority), Vikas Kundal, Superintendent of Police, Kargil, Dr. Vinod Kumar, DIO Iftikar Hussain, Nodal Officer Deployment and other concerned officers participated in the process.

The polling will take place on August 27 while as counting will be held on August 31 and the entire process to elect 26 Councillors of the district for 4th General Election to the LAHDC Kargil shall be completed on September 5.

The observers directed the concerned to ensure free and fair elections.
