Police foil SMB teachers’ protest march in Srinagar
Srinagar, Aug 16: Police on Thursday foiled a protest march of Saakshar Bharat Mission (SBM) teachers.
The SMB teachers assembled at the Sher-i-Kashmir park and tried to march towards the civil secretariat.
However, a heavy contingent of police intercepted them outside the park and bundled some protesters into vans.
The teachers were protesting against their long-pending demands. They threatened to go on hunger strike if their demands were not met before August 28.
