Kulgam, Aug 15: A number of patients and visitors at District Hospital Kulgam alleged the Hospital authorities of looting them in the name ‘visitor/attendant pass’ as they are being compelled to pay for the same throughout the whole day.

Patients and visitors said that they are supposed to buy different items for the patients, who are admitted at the Hospital, throughout the day and that doesn’t mean we have will be charged every time.

“For every entry into the hospital, we are compelled to pay for the visitor pass, even if we have to bring water and medicines for the patients. We are not allowed to move inside the hospital premises without the said pass, despite of showing the admission slip of patients, and medicines to the security guards,” said Nusrat Akhter, a vistor.

Kousar Jan, another attendant said that her kid is admitted at the district hospital, but she was denied entry into the hospital when she had to get medicines for the patient. “My kid is undergoing treatment here. I am supposed to go outside of the hospital building a number of times during a single, but that doesn’t mean I have to keep buying the visitor pass whole day,” she added.

When contacted Chief Medical Officer Kulgam, Dr Fazil Ali, he said, “The visitor/attendant pass is intended to prevent the overcrowding of hospital premises, and it is for the convenience for the general public.”
