Srinagar, Aug 13: Barely twelve hours after his abduction, the bullet-ridden body of a youth from south Kashmir’s Pulwama district was recovered today morning, police said.

An official said the body of 24-year-old Gulzar Ahmad Bhat was recovered today morning from a field in his native Murran village.

He said the militants had barged inside his house last night and abducted him.

“Later on, police recovered the bullet riddled body of Gulzar from the nearby fields of Murran Pulwama,” said the official.

Police has registered a case and initiated investigation, he said.

“Investigation so far suggest involvement of local militants Zahoor Thokar and Showkat Dar of the Hizbul Mujahideen outfit,” he added.

Bhat reportedly ran an eye clinic in Bijbehara town of Anantnag district.

Hundreds of people attended the funeral prayers of the slain man, reports said.
