Seminar on Drug De-Addiction held at Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, JULY 23: Government Degree College Ganderbal today organized a seminar on “Drug Addiction: Consequences and Remedies”.

The Principal in his inaugural address deliberated upon the importance of awareness vis-à-vis drug abuse and the possible remedies available.

The special invitee of the seminar Assistant Professor Department of Education, (South Campus) University of Kashmir Bilal Ahmad Kaloo, gave a detailed presentation on the said theme.

Fifteen students from different streams of the college presented their papers highlighting different aspects of drug addiction and the possible remedies.

The speakers noted with satisfaction that the rate of drug abuse in the District Ganderbal has not crossed alarming proportions. However educative and awareness programmes need to be organized at regular intervals in order to safeguard our society from this menace. Nighat Athar; Ghulam Murtaza, and Insha Nasir got the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

The vote of thanks was presented by Prof Asma Arshi. The proceedings of the seminar were conducted by Manzoor Ahmad Parey, Assistant Professor (Education) of the College.
