Kulgam, July 23: The residents of Daderkoot village of district Kulgam are being compelled to drink impure water during rainy seasons as the water pipeline has suffered damage which lets in the impurities.

Locals of Daderkoot village said that during rainy season they are compelled to drink contaminated water because the water pipelines are connected to Nallah Tongri.

“Water is being supplied to our village from a Nallah directly without any,” they added.

One of the residents of Daderkoot, Manzoor Ahmad Ganie, said, “After every rainfall, brownish water flows from the taps for almost 2 to 3 days and thereby making the villagers to stop using this impure water.”

“We have no other source of water in our village,” he added.

Assistant Engineer PHE Bihibagh Kulgam Aijaz Ahmad said, he will look into the matter as soon as possible.

While talking about the water filtration plant he said, it might be under revamping and it will be completed very soon as they have to complete all these projects.
