Incarcerated Shabir Shah Bereaved
JKDFP expresses condolence and solidarity
Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the passing away of uncle of its incarcerated Chairman, Shabir Shah.
Mohammad Shafi Shah, of Anantnag breathed his last at his ancestral home early today. He was the younger uncle of Shabir Shah.
While expressing solidarity with the bereaved family and its chairman, Shabir Shah, JKDFP Secretary General, Moulana Mohammad Abdullah Tari said in a statement that Shabir Shah lost his one more close relative when he is in jail and could not attend his funeral prayers. When the wife of Mohammad Shafi Shah passed away some years back, Shabir Shah was in jail and could not even attend her last rites.
‘The Prisoner of Conscience’ has spent 31 years of his life in different jails nourishing his political ideology and the irony is that he was never provided an opportunity to participate in his relative’s last rites who passed away whenever Shabir Shah was behind bars.
