Demise condoled widely

Srinagar, Jul 06: Syeda Hafeeza Begum, wife of prominent industrialist and businessman Syed Mohammad Iqbal Bukhari, and mother of senior PDP leader and former Finance Minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari passed away today at her home in Sheikhbagh Srinagar.

Family sources said that after a brief spell of illness, the deceased left for heavenly abode today morning. She was laid to rest at family’s ancestral graveyard at Ladoora in Rafiabad in Baramulla district where thousands joined her Nimaz-e-Jinaza.

The family sources further said that the ‘Chaharum’ of the deceased will be observed on July 09 at Ladoora.

Known for her piety and philanthropy, the deceased was an embodiment of values and had dedicated her life to caring for the destitute and people in distress.

Meanwhile, the demise of Bukhari’s mother has been condoled widely.

Governor NN Vohra, in a message, while expressing grief over the demise prayed for the departed soul resting in eternal peace.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) too has condoled the demise, with the party president Mehbooba Mufti and vice-president Mohammad Sartaj Madni terming the late soul a pious and noble lady with a philanthropic nature. The two leaders also prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

Meanwhile, other party leaders, MPs, legislators also expressed their sympathies with the Bukhari family and prayed for lasting peace to the departed soul.

National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah and vice-president Omar Abdullah also expressed grief and sorrow over the demise.

Expressing solidarity with the Bukhari family and Syed Altaf Bukhari, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah have prayed for peace to the departed soul.

NC general secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, additional general secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, provincial presidents Nasir Aslam Wani and Devender Singh Rana have also condoled the demise of Syed Hafeeza Begum and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
