Driver who thrashed traffic cop arrested: Police
Srinagar, Jun 14: Police on Thursday arrested a driver who had allegedly thrashed a traffic cop during a scuffle yesterday.
A police spokesman said that traffic officials deputed for checking illegal parking at Residency Road towed a car bearing (JK05F-9966) on Wednesday. But the owner of the car objected to the police action, resulting in a scuffle with the deputed traffic official.
“Police party of Police Station Kothi Bagh reached on spot and took cognizance of the matter in which erring driver was taken into custody and vehicle in question was also seized,” he said.
In this regard, a case (FIR no 50/2018) under section 353 RPC stands registered and all efforts are on to arrest another accused, spokesman said.
