Six persons injured in Police action in Budgam

Budgam, June 09: Six persons were injured including a  women in police action at Takipora Budgam on Saturday, protesting villagers said.

They told Kashmir Images that police party led by Budgam Station House Officer (SHO) thrashed six persons.

“In the wee hours, police stopped a tipper and beat its driver to pulp. After which a policeman who drove the tipper damaged the retaining wall of a house ensuing clashes between the locals and police,” they said.

Demanding the transfer of SHO, villagers blocked the Budgam-Beerwah road and raised anti-police slogans.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commisoner Budgam, Mohammad Haroon Malik has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident.
