Major Orthopaedic surgical procedures resumed at Police Hospital Srinagar

Srinagar, May 05: Dr. Suhail Afzal, Consultant Orthopaedics conducted a successful ‘Microdiscectomy’ (Lumber Spine Disc Surgery) at Police Hospital Srinagar on a 30 years old female patient, suffering from a prolapsed intervertebral disc L4-L5 with L5 Radiculopathy.

A police spokesman said that by carrying out this major surgical procedure, a void of nearly three years was abolished, as no major Orthopaedic procedure were being conducted since long. This has brought a sigh of relief for the state Police Jawans and their family dependents.

Dr. Bilal A. Raja, Medical Superintendent expressed his gratitude to the Surgeon and his supporting theatre team including Anaesthetist Dr. Baljeet Kour for carrying out this procedure, besides hailed the cooperation of Directorate of Health Services Kashmir who genuinely understanding the need, has provided a dependable Orthopaedic Surgeon to Police Hospital Srinagar.
