Srinagar, Apr 23: The typing test of nursing orderlies working in the Health department is being “unnecessarily” delayed by the authorities from last three years, thus depriving the orderlies of their promotions.

“It has been a three year delay already but the health department is not conducting our typing test that makes us eligible for the promotion as ‘junior assistant’. This is injustice,” a group of Class-IV employees told ‘Kashmir Images’.

They said that Minister for Health, Baali Bagat, and Director Health Services Kashmir (DHSK), Dr Saleem Ur Rehman have already given their consent for the typing test. “However, the department is failing to conduct the same.”

An orderly from Budgam said that two years back, the government had even issued the admit cards for the test, but later the test was postponed on the pretext of Amarmath Yatra.

“We were told that some Class-IV employees are deputed at Yatra, which is why the test was postponed. However, since then the pilgrimage has taken place twice but the department is yet to conduct our test,” he added.

Earlier, the final selection list of 114 selected candidates was published in a local daily in September, 2017, while a notification inviting objections was issued on 06-06-2015 and published on 08-06-2017.

Despite repeated calls and text message, Director Health Services Kashmir could not be contacted for the comments.
