Militant held in Kulgam: Police

Srinagar, Apr 12: A suspected militant, who police said was planning to target security personnel and snatch their weapons has been arrested from Kulgam district of south Kashmir.

“Roshan Zameer Bhat, son of Mohammad Amin, resident of Nowpora Frisal, was held based on an information that members of Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Toiba were planning to carry out attacks on security personnel to snatch their weapons,” a police spokesman said.

On being interrogated, the accused disclosed that he had kept the illegally acquired explosive material at his residence, the police said.

A Chinese grenade was found from the house of the accused, they said.

A case has been registered and the investigation is going on, police added.
