Adopt new technology to boost agriculture, milk production: Dorjey Mutup

LEH, APRIL 07: Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh DorjeyMutup today stressed on adopting latest technologies to boost agriculture and milk production across the district.

The CEC directed the Agriculture and Cooperative department officers to educate farmers for adopting latest technology for increasing quality production by sowing high breed seeds for seasonal vegetables.

He also asked the officers to hold awareness camps in the district and educate farmers about the government-sponsored welfare schemes for doubling their agriculture production in the district. He asked the Agriculture officer to provide hybrid seeds to farmers by opening sale counters in their respective villages.

The meeting was attended by EC Agriculture TseringAngdus, EC Health Gyal P Wangyal, EC Tourism TseringSandup, EC Animal/Sheep Husbandry & Cooperative Mumtaz Hussain, besides senior officers of army, civil administration and representatives of Marketing Cooperative Societies of Leh district and Central Arid Zone Research Institute.
