Malik detained, sent to central jail

Srinagar, Apr 02: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik was arrested today and shifted to Central jail, Srinagar.

A JKLF spokesman in a statement issued here said that Malik was arrested by police today early morning and shifted to Police Station Kothibagh from where he was shifted to Central jail Srinagar on a three-day judicial remand.

Ahead of his arrest, the spokesman said Malik while condemning the ongoing “military onslaught” especially in south Kashmir, said that “when killing humans becomes a glorified act and is termed as special day by officers in uniform, it can only be termed as shocking and barbarity.

“This is no bravery but utmost cowardice over which only those who have lost human instinct and conscience can feel proud and boastful,” the spokesman quoted Malik as saying.

The spokesman  also said that police today raided JKLF office and arrested its zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri from there. He was shifted to Kothibagh Police Station.
