Arif Laigaroo hails Cyclist Akber Khan

Srinagar, Mar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youth Wing Secretary Arif Laigaroo has hailed cyclist Akber Khan for bringing laurels to State in professional cycling arena of Country.

Akber Khan recently bagged positions in the Mumbai-Pune 180-kilomtre race and also in 110-kilomtre Satara Cyclothon in Maharashtra. He is the first International cyclist of J&K.

“Akber has once again made our State proud. He is real role model for young sports lovers. He not only has performed will on national as well as international scene but has also motivated and guided hundreds of cyclists in our State during past few years,” said Laigaroo in a statement issued here.

“Seeing him doing well in national arena hundreds of youth in Narbal-Magam belt have taken cycling as their sport. Among them number of cyclist have bagged medal for J&K in national championships,” he said.

Laigaroo said that he will be felicitating Akber and another cyclist Parvaiz who also bagged position in the event, once they are back in Kashmir.
