14 killed in road accidents in Pakistan
Islamabad/Peshawar, Mar 21 : At least 14 people have been killed in two separate road accidents in Pakistan, including one near the Line of Control in PoK.
In the first incident, five persons were killed and 13 others injured when a pickup truck veered off the road and plunged into a ravine in the mountainous region of north west Pakistan yesterday.
The accident occurred at Sharono Hill in Shangla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when driver lost control over the vehicle which fell into the ravine, police said.
At least nine persons, including four women, were killed today and five other injured when a jeep fell into a ravine near the Line of Control in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The vehicle was going to Chakothi from Shah Kanja village when it met with the accident near Dakhan area of the Jhelum Valley.
It was not known immediately what caused the mishap.
Road accidents are common in Pakistan. Most of them are caused due to bad roads, old and poorly maintained vehicles and reckless driving.
