Press Club Jammu, Dy CM condemn attack
Jammu: Some local Jamuites today attacked media persons in Jammu as they were covering Rohingya refugees.
Sources said that while the media persons were doing their professional duty, some miscreants, probably the local land owners who have rented spaces to Rohingyas, attacked the journalistay.
Sources said the an FIR has been lodged against the attackers in police station Trikuta Nagar.
The Press Club of Jammu has condemned the attack by some miscreants on media persons.
In a meeting of the Managing Committee, held in the Club premises this afternoon, the Secretary General, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, strongly condemned the attack on the media persons and demanded strict action against the miscreants.
“This is not the first case, in past as well, there have been cases of assault on working journalists ,” Jamwal said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh has condemned the attack on senior journalists while discharging their professional duties here today.
In a message of solidarity with the media fraternity, Dr Singh said that these types of attacks are highly condemnable and should be condemned by every section of society.
