Shopian, Dec 01: In the finals of Shopian Premier League being played at Sports stadium Batpora Shopian, Root 2 Fruit team defeated Paradise Cricket Club PCC on Saturday here.

Winning toss and batting first, PCC played only 13 overs of game in allowed 20 overs and were bundled out on paltry 58 runs. No player of PCC team performed on ground as they got quickly dismissed.

Mohsin Ahmad of PCC was the only highest scorer who entered into double figures by scoring 13 runs for his team; while as other batsmen could not stand against bowling of their opposite rivals.

Excellent bowling by Hamid Mushtaq and Aafaq Khan of Root 2 fruit who took 4 wickets each destroyed batting line of PCC.

Chasing target of 59 runs, Root 2 Fruit chased down the target in just 7 overs without losing any wicket and won the grand Final by 10 wickets.

Aatif Khan and touseef Khan scored 28 and 27 runs without any chance of dismissal.

Award ceremony of the final will be held on Monday in presence of Deputy Commissioner Shopian district as Chief Guest and other sports officials are expected to be present on the occasion.

Uniforms and sports kits will be distributed among the participants to encourage the young cricketers of Shopian.

Shopian Premier League proved to be a mega tournament which was organized by district administration.
