Hurriyat activist booked under PSA, shifted to Kotbalwal

Srinagar, Oct 12: A 30-year-old man arrested in south Kashmir’s Anantnag town last month was booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted to a jail in Jammu on Friday.

An official said that Sheikh Sartaj of Anchidora area of Anantnag town was shifted to Kotbalwal jail in Jammu today.

He was arrested a day after the killing of a youth, Rouf Ahmad Ganaie of Al Farooq Colony, in clashes with the government forces following the killing of five militants in Devsar area of neighbouring Kulgam district.

Sartaj had participated in the funeral prayers of the slain youth.

The official said that Sartaj is also a Tehreek-e-Hurriyat activist.
