1850 personnel of J&K Police promoted to higher ranks during last month

Rs.3.74 crore special welfare relief, ex-gratia

Rs.2.31 crore loan sanctioned in favour of 225 police personnel

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 11: Consequent upon the explicit directions by the Director General Police Dilbag Singh (IPS) in 2nd week of September 2018, 1850 personnel of J&K Police have been promoted in different ranks. The personnel include Followers, Constables, HC, ASI and SI.

As per orders issued, 665 SgCts have been promoted to the rank of Head Constables, 236 HCs to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspectors and 282 Assistant Sub-Inspectors to the rank of Sub-Inspectors.

Besides this, 620 Insitu promotions were granted in different ranks including 32 HCs, 72 SgCts and 469 Constables. Insitu promotion in favour of 47 Followers was also granted.

The promotion orders of the officials of J&K Police were issued after the Departmental Promotion Committee declared them eligible for their promotion to the next rank.

DGP J&K Dilbag Singh (IPS) has congratulated the promoted officials and extended his warm greetings to their families. He has expressed the hope that the promoted officials will continue to work with the same zeal and zest and discharge their respective duties honestly and professionally fully upholding the sanctity of public service.

In the last one month compassionate appointment cases of 12 beneficiaries were finalized at PHQ and 12 cases were recommended to Home Department for their appointment.

In addition to this, 180 wards of serving personnel and police martyrs were granted scholarships of Rs.11.38 lakh. Special Welfare Relief / Ex-gratia Relief of Rs.3.74 crore was sanctioned in favour of 35 NOKs of deceased police personnel and SPOs during the month.

As a welfare measure Rs.2.31 crore welfare loans were sanctioned in favour of 225 serving police personnel to meet expenses of medical treatment in terminal diseases, fee and other expenditures of wards of police personnel undergoing different trainings in professional courses. Welfare Relief of Rs.5.42 lakh was also granted to serving and retired personnel under different welfare schemes.
