Woman dies of burn injuries in Bandipora
Srinagar, Oct 09: A woman mother of three kids died mysteriously due to burn injuries in Ahamsharief village in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, officials said today.
The woman had sustained serious burn injuries at her in-laws’ home in Ahamsharief village on October 06.
“After sustaining burn injuries she was shifted to district hospital Bandipora from where she was referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment, ” an official said.
She, however, succumbed to her injuries.
After conducting postmortem at District Hospital (DH) Bandipora, the body was handed over to her family in Nusoo village of Bandipora.
Doctors said that she had suffered 90 percent burn injuries.
“We are investigating the case from all possible angles. We have not ruled out anything yet,” said a police official.
The family members of the deceased woman alleged she was being harassed by her in-laws. They alleged that her in-laws were responsible for her death.
However, her in-laws claimed that the woman committed suicide.
A police official said that in-laws of the deceased woman have been called to Police Station Bandipora for questioning.
